I have written it for many years here on the blog, and it still holds true: Those things we each believe (our beliefs), are in most cases the determining factor for whether or not we succeed. Successful people know this, and therefore they don’t leave their beliefs up to chance.
Here you have 7 beliefs of successful people:

1. They believe in creating their own luck
For some people, luck is something that comes along by chance, but successful people believe in creating their own luck themselves. For this reason, they work at improving their actions, their thoughts, and their personality, until the achieve results and the things they want. In this way, they don’t wait for luck to appear randomly. They make sure to create it themselves.

2. They believe that action is better than knowledge
You already know. There are many people with a piece of paper stating their knowledge or some skills they have learned. However, there is a big difference between having learned something and doing what you have learned. Successful people know this, and therefore they don’t just strive to gain knowledge and some skills. They make sure they implement the things they have learned, so they can also begin to reap the results. If they, themselves, don’t have the ability to do what they want to be successful at, the often find some people with abilities they, themselves, don’t believe they have.

3. They believe in the importance of quality
Whether you wish to be personally, professionally, or financially successful, eventually you will discover that the better quality you deliver, the easier it becomes for you to achieve success. Successful people know this. They also know that quality is better than quantity, both in the short and the long term. Therefore, they strive to deliver quality any time they’re involved. This doesn’t just apply to their work, it also applies to their communication, their relationships with others, if they have customers to take care of, etc.

4. They believe that having some standards is important
Many people allow themselves to be persuaded (by themselves our others) to give up their dreams and goals any time they have setbacks, or it becomes too difficult or challenging. Successful people know that this can happen, and therefore they set some standards for themselves, so they don’t give up. These may be standards regarding how many hours they have to work, how much they need to earn each month, which individuals they want to be around, how many times they are allowed to procrastinate before they MUST act, etc. The purpose of their standards is to keep themselves on track, so they are not temped by all the distractions they may run into on the way to their dreams and goals.

5. They believe that success is about more than money
Of course, the way we each define the word success varies. Most of us know that having a lot of money isn’t necessarily the same thing as having success. History is full of people who have had all the money they could dream of, yet ended up taking their own lives, because it wasn’t enough. Successful people know this, and they also know that if they focus on their own growth or on creating success through others, the money will follow.

6. They believe that the only mistake is giving up
If you imagine what would be the worst thing that could happen, if you gave up pursuing your heart’s desires, you already have a good idea of the way successful people think. For them, making mistakes is more important than giving up. They refuse to give up once they set out to do something. This approach forces them to think up new possibilities and solutions.

7. They believe in themselves
What really determines whether a person ultimately is successful or not, is their belief in themselves. If you believe in yourself, it is easier to withstand any resistance on the road to success... and successful people know this. Therefore, they know that believing in themselves is important, and if they enter a period where they don’t, they often receive professional help from someone who can help them get back on track.
